New Method of Learning

           Electronic Learning (e-Learning) is a distance learning using computer technology and the Internet network. E-learning allows participants to learn through computers in their respective places without having to physically in the classroom. E-Learning is often understood as a form of web-based learning that can be accessed from the Internet. In this case the application and learning materials developed and distributed as needed via a flash drive containing media video and pdf, and then participants can take advantage of the flash disk and began to study in any place where he wants. By supporting of web access to the learning method and process is possible to be done and become and good alternative to have.

          Therefore, the main requirement with e-learning, participants should understand how to operate a computer and internet connection interaction because the learning process from the teacher or discussion forum with other participants, exercises, final exam is done online. This is an excellence thing of e-Learning; Flexibility of study time, 24-hour presence of a discussion forum for the active is not depleted and the ultimate test of the existence of the e-Learning is learning.

It is the time for all people around the world to be educated in many ways. Internet has provided us chances to have many things in our lives.

SPENDING LEISURE TIME

All parents would like that their children will grow into healthy, intelligent and creative children. I think believe those are the goal of all of us as parents, but for moving towards it is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. However nowadays,  It need hard work to teach our children that they will grow as our hope especially since they using much time in their time only for watching television or playing video games.

For some people using leisure time especially for young people is understood today as a waste of time because they spend too much time in those activities. It is assumed that most young people after coming home from school spend their time most in watching television or playing video games. Many people believe that spending much time, watching television or playing video games in an isolated room can cause some bad effects on children mind and moral as well as physical. It is not only that those children will have lack of body fitness, but also lack of social relation with their friends. 

 As we see, children sometimes emulate what they watch from television. It is believed that a child, not to be able yet, to differentiate between fiction or real thing. For example, how they would understand that the content of the movie such as Spiderman, Superman or Harry Potter are fictions. There are some cases reported in some places such as, children who jump from high place, using a superman because they think they are superman too.  

In addition watching television or playing video games in an isolated room causes children have fewer friends. They egos are growing more and more. This will affect their view of human relationships because of lack of relationships to their neighbors. They don’t have sympathy too, in case of an accident for example.

However, spending time in watching television or playing video games can give some advantages to the children too. They would have broadened knowledge, especially if they watch education program. Generally speaking there are advantages or disadvantages of spending much time in watching television or playing video games. It depends on what programs they watch and how much time they spend watching. So, it is important to know what the children watch. This will helps parent to see the development of their children.

HOW TO SPEND LEISURE TIME IN BROADER SITUATION

There is a theory which says that works which are chosen by the parents to form children's creativity and to grow self-confidence and ability should be suitable for them. Parents should give freedom for them to choose their hobbies without outside interferences.

Another theory says that the role of families in supporting children's creativity must use the principles of democracy and freedom in every child's activity. All that will develop children's ability to work.

Therefore, parents should pay attention to this issue. In their spare time, children are given the opportunity to solve the problems which they face during their work. Every things that can open up their horizons of knowledge in helping them to develop their skills in working time. These methods will affect their imagination or abilities.

It is not doubted that efforts, facilities, training, experience in coloring, outlining, measuring, forming, marking, weighing and others can help to develop of children artistic expression.

And the most decisive is the rule of life, either as a child or an adult. The superiority of children is often determined by how they use of their free time. Spending free time is depending on the habits of parents and the environment communities. We should avoid our children from the boredom of studying. Let me invite the parents to fully devote attention to enjoy free time for children, such as sports, arts, science, and other activities that will give benefits for them, for the family, society and religion.

DEATH AS AN UNDESIRED FRIEND

A few months ago, on Saturday June 8, 2013; an Indonesian senior politician Taufiq Kiemas died in Singapore. He was Megawati Sukarnoputri‘s husband, a former president of Indonesia Republic. He was a notable figure because he was the active chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly. Indonesia has been mourning for loosing of one of the nation’s best person who is recognized by many friends or political opponents as a great leader in Indonesia. His figure was stands out, because a lot of his life gave a positive example for the nation of Indonesia. He is reminiscent of Indonesian nationhood, which is called 4 pillars of Indonesia nationality namely: The Pancasila, 1945 Constitution, NKRI (Unitary of Indonesia Republic State), Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). Taufiq Kiemas was known as an egalitarian personal, and unifier of the interests of many parties in Indonesia. The late Taufiq Kiemas have a place as a national leader and nationalist leaders.

Indonesia mourn of his death. It is true that we are grieve great figures who a positive impact for the nation and the world. We feel still need them. We want them to live longer. We do not want to miss this great persons. We remember what a great mourning we had when when mother Teresa, Lady Diana, Albert Einstein, and others great people died. We are shocked, saddened but could not do anything. Truly, death has become a terrifying enemy of human all human beings. We hate this enemy, especially when it snatch our beloved parent, sister, brother, or other family members from us. We hate this enemy because one time in future it will take our life also without an assurance where it put our life.

Many scientists had attempted how to defeat this enemy.A lot of efforts and experiments have been done to defeat or at least to delay the death. However until now even to comprehend what life is made ​​of, human beings have not been able yet. What substance our breath consists of, is it oxygen compound elements? until now none found the answer. It still remains to be a great mystery. This is what makes the death so frightening for all human. The death will come to all people, regardless of social status, age or education. 

At one time I ever saw a doctor who has a disease and was not able to cure it. Actually his formal education has reached doctoral level already. He looked so scared if death would end his life. My friends, no one knows when death will  come to take us from this world. Even in what condition is one's life, it will come, no one else can know.

It is no wonder that even great person in this world admit that we have our limitations. We have to accept that life is a special gift for us in this world. A great and special gift. Life is unique which we have for a while. We are only a traveler here. That is why at the time of Taufik Kiemas burial, a minister of Indonesia said, “We all are going to go to that future home later.“ And another his fellow minister added, “Finally, we are only going to occupy the 1 x 2 meters only.“ We born bring nothing to this world and we will go will bring nothing too. That’s it all. “God would give you what you what we never asked for: it is death. It is everyone’s friend.” said another. 

Is it true that we have no hope to defeat death? Yes… I believe there is. It is what Jesus said to all of human being. What he said to His disciples. I think this is the only way and be the best we can have until now . It is worthy to to believe what Jesus said in John 14, :I am the truth, the way and the life.” In another chapter of John he said, “whoever who believe in me, he will get again his life, even though he died already.” Yes…. now we can make death as our friend, what for we scare of him, if he will come to everyone. What for we scare of him, if Jesus will give the life again. Not only temporal life like we have in this world today, also for eternal life with Him in heaven.

Jesus had resurrected from His death and promised that He will resurrect us from death when He is coming for second time to this world. It is only Jesus who was able to defeat death. 

Heart Outpouring on Facebook Wall (1)

“I have no hope. he’s gone from me. your love is only for impingement. I am truly hurt. I am dying now of thinking you.” This was a status on facebook wall which sent via mobile phones. 

Another status reads:“What an unfortunate fate I had. It looks like I was born to be constantly disappointed. “ 

“Is it because of you don’t need me anymore? Why do you leave me? I really hope your love… my dear, please come back to me.” 

“for many times…. I’ve failed again!

I am not worth for him. If I am not coupled with him, Yes I accept, my Lord. But, please check again, Lord .. Who knew there was a mistake.” 

 It seems very gloomy and melancholy tone when reading statuses on facebook wall, where users are being affected negatively due to the painful experienced which happened in our daily life. Then, attitudes tended to despise themselves, emerge with various expressions including jeremiads on FB Wall. Why it should be like that? What makes people feel themselves “useless” and look at themselves unworthy with a variety of expressions of negative emotions?“ 

People can lose their confidence if they exposed to failure many times,” said pioneer Positive Psychology, Martin Seligman. The professor introduced the term “learned helpless” to point out a pattern of self-assessment (self-esteem). They believes that they are “a failure” in all case. Everything done seems to be wrong. Unfortunately it tend to leads to despair. When people experienced failure many times, they will learn to believe that whatever they do, they will not produce anything,” he explained.

People usually learn from the impressive experiences, whether they were good or bad experiences. However it is worse if they suffered a painful experiences many times.  Self-esteem is formed further leads to “total submission” that justifies themselves as “the extremely poor helpless.” What are their purpose to write their status in FB wall? They seem to be very diverse. Many of them attempt to gain the sympathy from their friends. It could be some sort of conclusive statements to assert himself who always suffer. The latter is important to anticipate because its impact is very danger.

The most classic of the causes of the low self-esteem is a failure in love or romance. Feeling betrayed many times by the couple, ignored and removed like a dust or cast out like a mosquito that bite the skin. It can cause a person to experience “psychological distortion” which result in feelingof useless. They they behave and treated unproperly, cursing themselves why such a bad experience in love to be experienced.    to be continued ….!

THE GREATEST HOPE IN HUMAN LIFE

I think hope is the real magic. It can give strength and happiness to many people in many circumstances. However, maybe hope and desire of every person is different one another. When I was a child, my great hope is to have a little money before going to the church. Yes, that is my happiness and hope when my mother will give us, all her children some money to spend and to give offering in Sunday school. For my family, that time was a hard moment; we have many difficulties, because of economic recession. It is what I think and assess from my perspective now. In such hard situation, having a little money would be a very happy moment.   After growing to be a teenager and having a girl friend, seeing her face is the most my greatest desire I have. I want to meet her. I missed her.  What a happy day when we met  once a week. 

Now I am an adult, I am married. Having children, seeing them to grow in a good mental, physical, and spiritual is now my great desire. In addition, I want to help my parent also. After they get old, I think that it is an obligation for me their sons to make them happy. I am sure, meeting and to talking with their children is one of their greatest desire and hope. I can see their expressions of happiness when they met me. Now in their weakness of physically and intellectually it is a happiness to me to make them happy. When they know that they would meet their children and grand children, their spirit and strength is coming again. Yes it is true that hope give us a wonderful strength and spirit.

However sometimes in my mind, what is the greatest hope and happiness in human' life? Is it to get huge money or to get a luxurious car? Is it to be a famous person or to have a power of ruling the world?  I believe for many people they look for those things. Many people do hard work to get the fabulous things in their life.  Yes it is not wrong. It is right to have a good life, have enough money to buy our need. 

However all of those thing never satisfy our soul. Many times, they make disappointments in our life. In many aspects money cannot buy everything including happiness. It is different when I view this thing from the standpoint of the scripture. We should not forget that there is a great truth and the greatest hope of all in this universe. 

That is what John wrote in his book revelation, “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready” (John 19:7). Wow what  a wonderful thing to know this truth. Jesus said to John the beloved disciple directly that there is a reunion again between human and God. Actually this is a promise from God which written in scripture many times. This is clearly seen in the book of gospel and the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible.  The church is symbolized in the Bible with the holy women. That is why in the Bible, the church is not talking about the organization or about buildings, but about people who believe in the redemption of Christ, out of the darkness of the world. Believe in him as God who incarnate to a man and then sacrifice Himself  to be our Savior. It amazed me to this.

Unfortunately, even among those who admit as a Christians my of us did know believe this clear words. For me I don’t know why. I think there are some factors or reasons! I remember, a few years ago while visiting my friend's house in North Sumatra. My friend’s mother was old, sick and weak physically. When I met her, she asked me, "is it true that Jesus will come again? Is  it there written in scripture?”.  I was very surprised with this sudden question, especially because she’s been a Christian since her childhood.  Then I try to answer and said, "the return of Jesus to this world is not the teachings of men or the priests, it is what Jesus says from His own mouth. There many witnesses who hear those saying.”  Then I try to show her some verses of scripture that describe how this theme is very central in scripture. I just wonder why this plain truth is not known by many Christians who possess the bible. I try to explain a little about what I know. As we know that when Jesus ascending to heaven, after his mission is complete in this world,  the angels bear witness,  Jesus will come back again for the second time to take all the believer  to heaven.  After sometimes later, I'm trying to explain this topic again. Then I see there was a change in her face.It showed a shine. I saw her hope grew. He felt happiness. Her life was filled with high spirit again to live. She said that want to live longer and to see Jesus when he return to this earth. Since this time, I realized what a great hope is this plain truth. 

John the beloved disciple, had written in the book of Revelation 19:4,6-10, that one day there will be a group of people, from every nation and all ages together at the wedding feast of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. This will be a greatest desire and hope in human life I think. Reunion with all universe being with Jesus the savior is is an amazing message.I am longing to see this prophecy be fulfilled. I am longing to see Jesus coming again in the clouds with all His glory, accompanied by all the angels of heaven. What kind of great voice when the trumpet heaven is sounded to announce His coming? Let's see!

UNIQUENESS AND WORTHINESS OF LIFE ON EARTH

What do you think about the life on this earth where we live in? Specifically to the human beings who are able to think and have logic as well as having moral values. For many people this life is meaningless but for others this life wonderful that should be celebrated. Many of us ask about the uniqueness of life on this earth. Is life itself only on this earth. Is there a life among million of planets out there? But until now, scientists have never announce officially that they found a life in other planets. Is it possible to seek and find another lives out there, or could it be never come to a reality. Could it be that life on this earth is going to remain a mystery? Where do we comes from and where shall we go? These questions are still in mind of many people.

Even though we can’t many the answer of those questions, when comparing our planet with others, we should be thankful we have lived on earth. We understand how comfortable to live here and how beautiful it is. How precious life on this earth really. The life we own cannot be replaced or bought by anything. Everyone has his or her have our own life. Perhaps this is why when our beloved parent, friend died, it become the hardest stress experienced by humans. When one get a dangerous diseases like cancer, they will do everything to heal the men from their suffering that they may have longer life. I believe, as I have done, we would give or sold everything to pay our beloved life.

Many scientists have tried to make life. I’ve read some scientists who make experiments with chicken egg. They made chicken eggs in exact form and composition. It is expected to hatch after incubating. But this experiment failed. We return to the peculiarities and uniqueness of life on earth. The earth is a planet in the solar system, it look like blue when seeing from outer space. Its distance about 150 milion km from the sun and known as astronomical unit. This distance is a great suitable to support life on earth. We can imagine if earth as close as Mercury, we will be burned or if the earth as far as Jupiter from the sun we would be frozen. Someone said that even If the distance of the earth from the sun further or closer a little bit, it would affect the stability of water cycle.

Secondly, our planet revolve on its axis, we call it earth rotation. It causes this planet to have day and night. Yes day or night has very significance in our life. At night we rest and sleep where our body regenerate its cells. We cannot imagine this world without night, can we stay alive? It is said that one who does not sleep continuously for 7 days she or he could be die. Furthermore, do you ever think day and night longer or shorter? for example, what would happen if daylight 30 hours and night 30 hours also? Do you know that the temperature differences between day and night would be too large. Meanwhile if the Earth’s rotation is faster, the wind blowing would be too high in the atmosphere. Wow truly amazing! Verily, life on earth is very worthy.

Besides rotating on its axis, the earth also revolves around the sun once a year. As the consequences of this revolution on earth : 1) A change in the length of day and night time, 2) The change of constellation 3) The apparent annual motion of the sun 4) The change of season . Yes of course all of these also supports all life on earth.

Thirdly, the layer of Earth’s atmosphere is also very unique and is well suited to be alive. Earth’s atmosphere consists of nitrogen (78.17%) and oxygen (20.97%), with a bit of argon (0.9%), carbon dioxide and other gases ( approximately 0.0357%). About 75% of the atmosphere is in 11 km from the planet’s surface. The atmosphere does not have a proper boundary directly borders with the outer space but rather thins gradually. In fact the atmosphere protects life on Earth by absorbing ultraviolet radiation from the sun and reducing temperature extremes between day and night. The atmosphere protects life on Earth form other outer space objects like meteors also.

These are the compositions and benefits of the gas in the atmosphere:

1. Nitrogen (N2) number at most, covering 78 % of atmosfer. Nitrogen is not directly joined with other elements, but it is part of an organic compound.

2. Oxygen (O2) is essential for life, which is to transform nutrients into energy to live.

3. Carbon dioxide (CO2) causes the greenhouse effect (greenhouse) transparent to short-wave radiation and absorb long-wave radiation. Thus the increase in the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere will lead to a rise in the earth’s temperature.

4. Ozone (O3) is a gas that is very active and is another form of oxygen. The gas contained in a height between 20 to 30 km. Ozone absorbs ultraviolet radiation that has great energy and is harmful to the human body.

Fourthly is water. Water is like life itself. How can a human live without water. Water is very essential for all compounds of life on Earth. Water covers nearly 71% of the Earth’s surface. There are 1.4 billion cubic kilometer is available on Earth. Most of the water is in the ocean (salt water),in the layers of ice (in polar and mountain tops), in rivers, lakes, and sea ice. In addition water can be present as cloud and rain as well as water vapor. Water has also has a cycle: through evaporation, rain, and water flows over the land surface to the sea.

How all of this very organized and magically given the importance of clean water is important for human life. For many people it could be a coincidence, and it is sometimes seem very common in our daily life. That’s why many people see it a trivial matter. However, this actually gives a sense miraculous thing. Life on earth is very worthy and unique. Life exist only on our planet as long as we know until now. This means we should celebrate this life. We thank to the designer of this wonderful life. We should keep our planet well and and give to the next generation.
